BlueBird has presented its new PIDION BM-500 WM5-based CDMA smartphone at the CEBIT event in Hanover, Germany. The handset comes in candy bar form-factor and has an attractive design. The navigation buttons are moved to the left side of the handset, which is quite uncomfortable.

Specifications are pretty decent and include:

• Windows Mobile 5 OS
• Support CDMA EVDO network;

RIM has introduced the CDMA version of its Blackberry Pearl, called the Pearl 8130.

The new model comes with some new feature and software upgrades, but has the same body as the original Pearl. New features include a new OS with updated software applications, a 2Mpix camera, stereo Bluetooth, a 3.

A picture of the upcoming Motorola Q9m has appeared recently in the Web. This is a CDMA version of the new Q9 smartphone, but it is yet unknown whether the device will sport the same specs as the previously released HSDPA Q9h. Well, judging by the picture it is a Verizon-branded Windows Mobile 6.0 based handset.
Just to remind you, Motorola Q9h features a 2Mpix camera, stereo Bluetooth and 256 MB of internal memory.

Palm plans to launch soon their new phone, currently known as the Gandolf. It will be targeted to younger customers and judging by the spy pics will be available in two versions: CDMA version for Sprint and GSM for Vodafone.

The device features a rounded design, QWERTY keyboard, internal antenna, Bluetooth connectivity, microSD, and integrated camera.

Sony Ericsson introduced the new W53S clamshell mobile phone in Japan. The W53S is a CDMA 1x handset, which delivers fast download speeds. W53S features a 2.7" LCD display with 16:9 aspect ratio and a new +JOG operation (probably a new revolutionary interface).

You can also customize the phone to your needs thanks to hundreds of Style-Up panels.

CTIA presented the Samsung UbiCell base station. It’s a small white box similar to a WiFi access point. The UbiCell is mini cell tower for CDMA 1x networks. Through a broadband connection the device connects to a mobile network and provides enhanced cell coverage for the home. You don’t need anything special to use the base station. UbiCell will be distributed by Samsung via Sprint.

This summer Sprint is going to begin selling the UbiCell.

It is announced that UTStarcom announced two new entry-level clamshell CDMA phones. It’s not yet known much but we can tell you that the devices are 7026 -  a basic phone that has an internal antenna, color STN display, speakerphone, and BREW for downloadable games and content. 

Another device is 7076 that is similar to the 7026, but adds an external display and a VGA camera.

Look closely at the picture and meet the Nokia 7088 that was approved by the FCC. This handset is a CDMA device with  64k colors TFT screen, GPRS and EDGE connectivity. It was announced as a part of the Nokia's 40 Symbian series.
