The thing you see on the picture is a new Chinese handset designed in Shaolin Budha style. To make it look more expensive they even covered it with 24K gold. But frankly speaking, the phone looks more like a cheap toy, or rather ugly. I don't know who would want such a thing. Anyway, we just wanted to let you know it exists.

RIM is ready to release its Blackberry 8700 in China by the end of this month. China Mobile has already ordered 10,000 handsets from TCL Communications, the Chinese Blackberry manufacturer. The carrier will offer the device with two available plans: for RMB 398 ($54), and for RMB 598 ($81).

Nokia announced the grand opening of the first Nokia Flagship Store in Mainland China, the only stand-alone Nokia Flagship Store and the largest in the world. The Nokia Shanghai Flagship Store is the seventh of 18 planned Flagship Stores and is the second in the region following the opening of the premier Asia Pacific Flagship Store in Hong Kong. Five Chinese celebrities served as Nokia ambassadors at the opening ceremony - Hu Yan Bing, VJ Li Chen, An Yu Xuan, Du Cong, and Lian Du.

Chinese manufacturer CECT cloned the design of the yet unreleased Nokia N82, and released its own handset called Nxx, or CECT N82. Features of the phone include: - 2.6" QVGA touch-screen
- 1.3Mpix camera
- Stereo speakers
- Bluetooth connectivity
- MicroSD memory card slot
- Size/Weight: 110mm x 50mm x 17mm; 80 grams
The price is yet unknown, but considering that Nxx comes for China, it shouldn't cost too much.

Check out this new cell phone from China, called the "Disco phone". At the first sight the device looks more like a cheap toy than a phone, but don't let the appearance fool you. This handset comes with all the basic features of a mobile phone, including a camera, and is covered with colored LED lights, which start blinking whenever the user receives an incoming call.

Today SINA, China's leading online media company, announced that they have joined as a sponsor in Nokia's ongoing mobile multiplayer games competition to support the global search for new game developer talent and bring a new breed of innovative, connected mobile games to the Chinese market. As a result of SINA joining the competition, Nokia announced that the deadline for accepting mobile game concepts based on the SNAP Mobile platform has been extended to September 24.
