The upcoming LG Chocolate 3 will also be available in light blue when it launches next month.

The keypad and the front music wheel are in silver instead of gunmetal gray like on the black version.

Verizon Wireless has officially announced three new LG phones for its network: Dare, Decoy and Chocolate 3.

 

• The first (LG Dare) is a slim candybar phone with a large touch-sensitive screen and only three keys, like on the PRADA and Vu models. It is a multimedia touchscreen handset equipped with a 3.

According to some sources Verizon plans to release three new LG phones in the near future. They are:

• VX8610 Decoy: slider cell phone with a built-in removable Bluetooth earpiece. It should be available for purchase online starting May 30, and in stores starting June 9.
• VX8560 Chocolate Flip: an updated version of the VX8600.

This is the forth color available for this phone; other three include the Original Black, Black Cherry and Blue Mint.
The phone is available from Verizon for $99.99.

Verizon Wireless said today that in the 12 months since it launched the LG Chocolate in the United States it has sold more than 3.4 million units -- an obvious comparison to the one million units-per-quarter performance of Apple Inc.'s iPhone, which sells at rival carrier AT&T Mobility.

That's an average rate of about 850,000 Chocolate handsets per quarter, which compares well with Apple's stated intent to sell one million iPhones in the third quarter -- the first quarter for iPhone sale -- which it reached Sept.

Gadgetzone .nl has recently unveiled another set of photos of the new LG KU990 chocolate cell phone with Vodaphone logo on it.

LG KU990 specs (unconfirmed):

• Display: 3" QVGA, 256k colors touch-screen;
• Network: HSDPA/EDGE;
• Connectivity: USB 2.0 and Bluetooth;
• FM radio;
• Memory: 130MB internal, microSD card slot;

The new updated version of the LG Chocolate is really cool. It is slimmer and sleeker than the previous model and comes in Black Cherry and Blue Mint colors. The phone features a vibrating touch keypad and a new Navigation Wheel with Trace Motion light, which allows for easy navigation through phone's menu.

There is an Interactive user guide of the second Chocolate phone available on the Verizon Wireless site. The new VX8550 model is a slightly updated version of the older VX8500 . Small changes are seen in the design and in a few features.

All those awaiting the LG Shine will have to wait a bit longer.

The new LG VX8550, which was considered the Shine slider, turned out to be an updated version of the LG Chocolate. There were some cosmetic changes made on the keypad and new colors were added.

Pricing and availability details are yet unknown, but the phone will probably be released on the VX8500's one-year anniversary.
