No LTE Until 2012

According to Clearwire's CEO Bill Morrow, the company has no immediate plans to change its networking technologies, despite the recent change in its agreement with Intel that would let it switch to Long Term Evolution from WiMax as soon as this year. Here's what Morrow said regarding the agreement: "We won't be deploying LTE anytime soon and definitely not before 2012. But it does give us greater flexibility.

More WiMAX Phones from Clearwire in 2010

Clearwire announced that it will start selling new 4G WiMAX smartphones by HTC and Samsung by the end of this year. For now the only WiMAX capable handset in their lineup is the Samsung Mondi WiMAX MID.

Clearwire Now Offers WiMax in Seattle and Hawaii

Clearwire in association with Sprint has launched WiMax in a number of U.S. cities, including 2.000 square miles of Seattle metropolitan area (from Tacoma to Bellingham and from the Puget Sound to Issaquah), as well as Honolulu and Maui in Hawaii. The WiMAX footprint now covers just over 30 million people across the States.
