BGR has posted a set of exclusive pics of a test model of the Verizon Wireless' HTC Touch Diamond. It has been released on Sprint long ago, so in case you're still interested in this handset, which btw should be available next month, check out its specs below:

Just a quick glance at the upcoming HTC Touch Diamond 2 compared with the original side by side. As you see it looks a bit larger then the previous model.

The Mobile World Congress 2009 has begun today, so let's see what phone manufacturers have prepared for us, shall we? First stop - HTC with its newly-unveiled Diamond 2. Here are some of its features for you to compare with the ones of the previous version:

• Longer battery life (about 50% more);
• 3.2" WVGA display (800 x 480);
• 5Mpix autofocus camera;

• Ambient light sensor;

PPCGeeks have provided an official yet unannounced ROM update for Sprint's Diamond smartphone, along with a list of notable changes included in the build. It says it's a test version, so flash with caution.

Changes over the previous firmware:

• Internet Explorer 6;
• CE OS 5.2.20764 (Build 20764.1.4.3);
• Radio: 1.11.00F;
• Opera 9.

The white HTC Touch Diamond has finally appeared at the HTC’s website. And just in time for Christmas too, as one can't think of a better time than now to release a white-colored device. However, the offer is valid for Europe, while the U.S. release date is still under question. Pity.

Cellular South has started selling the HTC Touch Diamond for $199.99 with a 2-year contract. Those willing to buy an unlocked phone can get it for $449.99. The version of the Touch Diamond offered is the one with the sleeker back panel instead of the original angular back cover.

Today Vodafone's HTC Touch Diamond has received a firmware update to version 1.97.161.4. However, the official description of it won't tell you anything, as it only includes the following statement: “updating the software (firmware) will usually give you improved performance and often extra functionality”.

Verizon customers waiting for the HTC Touch Diamond will have to wait a bit longer, as the phone has been delayed until January next year.

However, the HTC Touch Pro is expected to arrive just in time for Christmas, so maybe you'll settle for one of those instead?

According to the latest issue of UR Magazine, Rogers will be selling the contract-free version of the HTC Touch Diamond. While the device is nowhere to be seen on the Rogers ' website, the magazine still claims that it will be priced at $599.99. Believe it or not, you decide. Also note that the unlocked HTC Touch costs $449.99 on Rogers.

A French retailer' site offers the HTC Touch Diamond in a variety of new colors, including Blue, Pink, Brown, Red, White, Yellow, and Purple. It's your choice. The only color that's missing here is apparently green. :)
