DoCoMo F-04A is the latest cell phone in the carrier's SMART series. This simple clamshell will be released in Japan in February or March 2009, and will sport the following features:

• 3G/HSDPA support;
• 3" 480 x 854 TFT display;
• 0.4" 12 x 56 monochrome FSTN display;
• microSD/SDHC memory card slot;
• 2Mpix camera

Japanese NTT DoCoMo has announced 19 new handsets divided into 906i and 706i series.

• The 906i series includes 8 phones, all of which feature 3G/GSM international roaming, GPS, HSDPA, 1-seg mobile TV, full browser with Flash 8 support, DCMX mobile credit card and iD mobile credit payment tech, VGA LCD screens, voice to text translation of Chinese, English, and Japanese, and even support for direct transfer of Blu-ray video.

There are rumors saying that Apple plans to enter the Korean and Japanese markets with their 3G iPhone on hands.

As supposed previously the upcoming handset would not be fully compatible with Japan's 3G network. But this appears to be false, as Apple intends to release its next-generation iPhone simultaneously in both Korea and Japan on Korea Free Telecom (KTF)'s and NTT DoCoMo's 3G networks, respectively.

Apparently NTT DoCoMo has licensed the Far EasTone Telecommunications to offer its i-mode service in Taiwan.

The latter has also partnered with Nokia to bring the service on a customized version of the 3G Nokia 6124 classic smartphone.

This is the first Nokia handset compatible i-mode.

Some of the phone's features include: S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 OS, HSDPA support, a QVGA display, and a 2Mpix camera.

Fujitsu came up with a new cell phone called Raku-Raku F884i for the Japanese NTT DoCoMo network.

The handset comes in a variety of colors and features quad-band GSM, large display, camera, 1-Seg mobile TV tuner, a configurable orientation sensor, which enables TV or camera depending on the orientation of the screen, and the upgraded real-time voice recognition function.

Japanese DoCoMo started offering a new SH705iII clamshell which supports Sharp's trademarked 'Triple Kukkiri (Clear) Talk' technology trio. They include Noise Reduction Function, Enhancement Function and Echo Cancellation Function to make the conversation as clear as possible.

Fujitsu FOMA F1100, introduced last year at CEATEC 2007 is finally ready to hit the stores in Japan under the NTT DoCoMo branding.

The device comes in dark wine color scheme, measures 16.9mm thick, features Windows Mobile 6 Standard as the OS, has wireless LAN and Bluetooth connectivity, and supports 3.

This is the new Sharp FOMA SH705iII, a sharp-cornered 3G clamshell available exclusively from Japanese carrier DoCoMo.

It comes with a 0.8" 400 x 240 resolution TFT display, a secondary 0.8" 96 x 39 resolution monochromatic OLED screen, a 3.2Mpix camera, a microSD card slot, and 1-Seg TV tuner.

 

DoCoMo has just released the new Sony Ericsson Cybershot SO905iCS in Japan.

It is a 5Mpix cameraphone with Exmor CMOS sensor, LED flash, 3x optical zoom lens, and functions like the new smile shutter mode and face detection.

NEC FOMA N705i is a new mobile phone for DoCoMo's network.

It measures 104x49x14.5 mm, weighs 105 grams, and features 3G connectivity, a 3" QVGA LCD, a 1.6" monochrome sub-LCD, geo-tagged photos, a standby time of 580 hours.

The N705i will be available for purchase in Japan starting February 1, 2008.
