Sprint Nextel launched its dual mode iDEN / CDMA service available in the first two devices: the Buzz ic502 (a clamshell, certified to military specification 810F for dust, shock and vibration) and the Blend ic402.

The phones use Sprint's CDMA network for standard phone calls and data; and the iDEN network for walkie-talkie type services.
