E-TEN has officially announced three new glofiish Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphones, which it plans to showcase at Computex this week. They are:

• DX900 - a dual-SIM handset very similar in design to the TV-friendly V900 (this model wa also announced) today;
• X900 - a quad-band GSM smartphone with HSDPA support, as well as Windows Mobile 6.

According to a Czech site, E-TEN will be launching the new glofiish DX900 dual-SIM smartphone next month at Computex in Taiwan.

Now, dual-SIM handsets aren't as rare in Asia, as they are in the U.S. It would be great to see these (DX900) on sale stateside, especially with tri-band HSDPA in the mix.

We hope for an official announcement and launch in the nearest future.

E-TEN announced a new Glofiish Pocket PC smartphone called the M750.

This is a non-3G version of the M810 model, and will be available in a few weeks in May.

Specifications for the E-TEN Glofiish M750 are as following:

• OS: Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional;
• Band: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz;
• Data: GPRS/EDGE/Wi-Fi;
• Dimensions: 110mm x 59mm x 17.

Acer, a major PC maker, announced today that it is ready to buy E-Ten, manufacturer of the Glofiish Windows Mobile smartphones.

The deal will amount to approximately $290 million and is expected to close during the third quarter of 2008.

Acer believes that by combining its technology with E-Ten's it can advance the mobile computing market.

E-TEN will showcase its two new products at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Both are Pocket PC phones - the Glofiish M810 and V900.

• The E-TEN Glofiish V900 is the company's first Pocket PC Phone to feature mobile TV, as it supports DVB-H, DVB-T, TDMB and DAB broadcasting standards.

In addition to the existing black and blue colors E-TEN has added red flavor to its Glofiish V900 smartphone.

E-TEN will present their yet unannounced Glofiish V900 at 3GSM World Congress 2008.

Its known features include support T-DMB and DVB-H, DAB and DVB-T digital audio/TV standards, 128MB RAM and Samsung 667MHz CPU.

The V900 should be initially available in black and blue colors.

E-Ten, a Taiwanese handset manufacturer, today officially announced its new Glofiish X650 smartphone.

The device runs on Windows Mobile 6 OS, supports GSM/EDGE and Wi-Fi networks, and features a VGA display, a 2Mpix AF camera, FM tuner/transmitter, Bluetooth connectivity and GPS receiver.

It should be available in a couple of weeks in black and purple versions.
