A new HTC smartphone was recently spotted at the FCC website. The device is called the Neon and judging by the image it appears to be yet another variant of the HTC Touch. In addition, we heard that this handset will soon be launched in Japan through NTT DoCoMo, but this information is yet unconfirmed.

Google confirmed today it would participate in the FCC 700 MHz spectrum auction that will start on January 24, 2008. It has chosen the "C" block of spectrum, and will be bidding alone, without any partners. The deadline for filling an application to take part in the event is December 3. The company said it will take care of all the necessary paperwork with the FCC on Monday.

FCC has approved the successor to the Eten 600 smartphone, the new Eten 650. The new model is a GSM handset, which runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional OS, operates on Samsung SC3 2442 500MHz processor, and features a VGA display, GPS receiver, Wi-Fi, FM wireless set, Bluetooth and an integrated digicam.

The new Motorola RIZR Z6c has been approved by the FCC and will soon be available from Verizon Wireless. The device is branded the "World Edition" phone, as it offers dual-band CDMA/EV-DO in addition to dual-band 900/1800 MHz GSM, which makes it usable anywhere in the world.

FCC has just approved the Philips Xenium 9@9u. As you can probably guess, it offers extra long battery life providing up to 8 hours of talk time and one month of standby. However, other models in this series are capable of providing twice as much battery power than this one. Speaking about the features, the 9@9u comes with tri-band GSM connectivity, 2Mpix camera, Bluetooth, microSD card slot, USB, and MP3 player.

FCC threatens to shut down the Sprint's iDEN network because the 800MHz spectrum it uses interferes with public safety channels. Several years ago Sprint was offered to move the network to another spectrum, and the carrier has already spent about $1 billion for that purpose, but now FCC says that the process of transition is slow and off schedule.

The FCC has recently released several photos of the upcoming Nokia 3555 3G mobile phone. Apparently this is a lower-end version of the Nokia 6555 model available on AT&T's 3G network. They look the same, but 3555 features a less advanced VGA camera, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, quad-band GSM and dual-band WCDMA connectivity, as well as Nokia's newest S40 interface with IM and e-mail support.

FCC unveiled some documents of the new Pantech C810 Mustang 3G dual-slider smartphone. Now we know that the handset supports quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band WCDMA networks, Bluetooth connectivity, 1.3Mpix camera, and runs on the Windows Mobile 6 Standard OS. The future carrier is yet unknown, but the C810 is compatible with AT&T's network.

It looks like the HP iPAQ 600 smartphone, mentioned earlier on our site, has been approved by the FCC. However, we have no photos of it available due to the confidentiality request put in by the HP. One of the device's downsides is that it cannot operate simultaneously in both WLAN and WWAN HSDPA networks.
