There is a leaked OS update for the BlackBerry Storm 9530 that bumps the version to 5.0.0.323. This release is not official, as the new firmware was supposed to become available to Verizon customers, owners of the original BlackBerry Storm along with the release of the new Storm 2. This means you install it at your own risk, and will lose all waranty for your device.

HTC has isued a new firmware build for its Hero handset, which should once and for all eliminate the lagging issue. One of the most common complaints regarding this handst was that it lagged when opening cerailn applications. Now this problem is fixed with the upgraded firmware version, 2.73.405.5, which is now available through the company's Danish website.

Future HTC Hero releases should have the latest OS installed.

BlackBerry 9530 users on Bell have received an exclusive firmware update for their handsets. Why exclusive? The latest OS 4.7.0.122 is not available to other carriers, and can't be installed by deleting the vendor.xml file. So those who are not on Bell will have to wait.

We hear that Verizon is planning to release the OS 4.7.0.113 firmware as its next official firmware for the BlackBerry Storm. That's definitely nice to hear, as the last official update from Verizon was released 4 months ago, and during that time we've only seen countless unoficial builds.
