The recently released Opera Mini 4.2 BETA java browser is now also available for the HTC G1 Android phone, and can be used as a good alternative to the handset's default browser.

The Opera Mini is also available on other platforms.

As you know, T-Mobile's G1 didn't include the 3.5mm adapter before, and users had to either use only miniUSB headphones, or buy the adapter separately. The adapter itself is cheap (costs just $2), but it takes some time to find and buy one, so why didn't they include it in the box in the first place?

Whatever the cause, it doesnt matter now, as new sets of the G1 phone will have the 3.

The white version of the T-Mobile’s G1 has been spotted on the company's website via the upgrade page. The phone isn't available yet, and probably won't be until Thanksgiving. All we can do is wait, but hopefully they'll release it sooner rather than later.

T-Mobile G1 users in the UK can now update their handset's firmware to version RC8, which includes all the fixes from U.S. builds RC29 and RC30. They've also added a fix for the recent text-reboot bug.

If you still haven't updated your G1, we strongly recommend you to do so.

Different sources report that HTC plans to start shipping its Android-powered G1 phone to Asia-Pacific region in the first half of 2009. Asia is a great big market, and there's no doubt such a popular handset will be accepted there with open arms.

If you’re tired of waiting for the official RC29 update for your T-Mobile G1 to roll out, here's a way to do it right now, but manually. All you need is a PC, internet connection, a way to transfer the firmware to your Micro SD card and a brain.

Today T-Mobile G1 has been released in the UK, and is available exclusively from T-Mobile. You can get the handset for free if you choose either T-Mobile Combi or Flext price plans for GBP40 a month, which include unlimited mobile internet browsing.

Apparently, T-Mobile's G1 from now on won't be glued to a single carrier.

People from “Unlock T-Mobile G1” will unlock your handset for just $22.99 if you provide them your IMEI code. Shortly after you’ll receive an eight digit unlock code for your G1. Unfortunately, as a side effect Gmail and the Android Market will not be accessible, but these are minor inconveniences, and we are sure these issues will be solved soon.

We know almost nothing on the subject, but some users are reporting that they've updated their T-Mobile G1's OTA (over-the-air), and now the phone is showing the build number of RC29. What this update includes remains a mistery, but stay tuned for more info as we get it.
