Surprisingly enough, we’re being told to expect flagship phones like HTC’s One M8, LG’s G3 and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 and S5 to score Lollipop goodies in time for the holidays.Even more surprising, we could be seeing Android 5.0 do its thing on a gadget aged one year+ as early as January. The chosen one is obviously Sammy’s Galaxy S4, but January is the most optimistic ETA.

Sprint is pushing out an update for the Galaxy S4 that will enable international WiFi calling.The Galaxy S4 is now the first device on Sprint’s Spark 4G LTE network to get international WiFi calling, but there could be some extra fees involved.WiFi calling from or to the US, US Virgin Islands, or Puerto Rico are completely free. Otherwise, using WiFi calling abroad to contact someone in another foreign country will cause international calling rates to kick in.

Samsung has started rolling out a firmware update for the Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505).Major new things included in this release are the Kids Mode, which turns the smartphone into a safe-for-kids device with tailored content and strict access to services; and enterprise-friendly KNOX 2.0 app/service.Additionally, the update also improves performance and battery life, while fixing some bugs.

T-Mobile‘s Samsung Galaxy S4 is receiving the newest version of Android, 4.4.2 KitKat today. The update will also be availalbe for install using Samsung’s Kies software.The build of the update is M919UVUFNB4, and brings a whole slew of new features to the device. Not only does the update include KitKat goodies such as the Google Experience Launcher, SMS Support for Hangouts and tons of speed improvements, but white status bar icons, NFC tap-to-pay all wrapped up in a 388MB package.

AT&T is rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat over-the-air for Samsung’s Galaxy S4.The fresh software pack weighs between 412 and 842 MB depending on your current Jelly Bean build. For manual installation, the standard procedure calls for accessing the “About device” menu, then “Software update” and finally “Check for updates”.

Samsung does not seem as though they are going to give up on the Galaxy S4 device anytime soon, as the internals of what seems to be the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 has been revealed via the Bluetooth SIG.It comes with additional color combinations thrown into the mix alongside Android 4.4.2 KitKat.It has a 5” Full HD display that delivers stunning visuals and a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 CPU, where the GT-I9515 “Value Edition” will arrive in black, white, brown, pink, purple, red and blue shades.

US Cellular’s Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 are next in line to get Android 4.4 KitKat updates.The leaked document you can see above suggests the rollout will begin later today and eventually end in 10 days. So the good news is that once this process starts, it won’t take too long for all Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 owners on the carrier’s network to get their favorite candy.

Sprint has become the first U.S. carrier to begin the rollout of Android 4.4 KitKat to the Samsung Galaxy S4.Enhancements/Fixes:

  • OS upgrade to Android 4.4 (Kit Kat)
  • Zact Mobile compatibility (It’s On)
  • Prevention Pop-up removal

Important Notes:

  • Software version is L720VPUFNAE
  • This update will roll-out in a phased manner from 2/13 – 3/9
