J. Gold Associates predict that in the near fufure, three to six months from now, Google and Nokia will combine their Android and Symbian platforms "to provide a single open source OS". Although there are no signs that somehow prove the aforementioned statement, the source is positively convinced that will happen very soon.
"A combination of the Android and Symbian efforts would be good for the industry, good for Google and good for Symbian", - say analysts.

Why do we need the Dream, when other HTC handsets, like Touch Diamond and Touch Pro are perfectly compatible with Google Android OS?
The latest model to get the Android port is the HTC Touch Cruise, also known as the Polaris.
Of course, the system is not so stable and functional as Windows Mobile and still needs to be worked on, but it's a start, and a good sign for those who own a handset capable of running Android.

We don't know what to think... Many sources now indicate that we won't see Google Android based handsets till the fourth quarter. However, originally it was implied that the first phones will be available in 2H 2008, but when exactly was not mentioned. Knowing this, all we can say for sure is that the first Android-based HTC smartphones will be available from T-Mobile sometime this year.

Palm announced it will start producing the unlocked version of its Centro smartphone. The device will cost $299 and will sport the same characteristics as the quad-band GSM/EDGE version from AT&T. It can be purchased directly from the company's website.
In addition, Palm also announced that Google will be offering its Maps for Mobile with My Location service to Centro owners.
