Some details on the upcoming and long-awaited Google phone have been recently revealed by GigaOm. Gphone is a Linux-based handset with full Java support. It will have a familiar Java UI, a multifunctional Java web browser, similar to those on the iPhone and Symbian devices, and be able to run all kinds of Java applications.

According to rumors the much awaited Google phone, or Gphone, will be launched sometime in the coming weeks. The company is now negotiating with India's leading mobile phone carriers Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar and Bharat Sanchar Nigam. It looks like Google plans to launch the handset simultaneously in the U.S. and Europe. For that occasion the company has prepared around $8 billion.

Google is supposedly working on its own cell phone that will probably reach markets within a year. The device is targeted at U.S. and European cellular operators. Today American service provider Sprint offers handsets bundled with Google's services and applications, and AT&T and Verizon Wireless are yet to follow, with the first already offering Google as a Web search option.

One can not change or delete existing appointments, but can add new ones and check previous and forthcoming events. But the option to change or delete existing appointments is missing.

There is not enough info on this one yet, but one thing is for sure: it is a really cool-looking handset judging by the pics. Only these picturess are nothing more than a supposition of what this concept Google device could actually look like. Having context-sensitive softkeys that can change up depending on the current application or even for notification of incoming messages, calls and so on is a really great idea.
