Taiwanese manufacturer Mio has introduced a new GPS-enabled smartphone, called the A502. The device is a successor to the previous A501 model, and comes with the following key features:

Hitachi has launched a very stylish new cell phone in Japan.

Called W53H, the handset is 14.2mm thin and comes with a 1Seg receiver, 2.8" OLED QVGA display, a 2Mpix camera, and an integrated GPS navigator.

Although the phone is quite large, it has a head-spinning design and very decent specifications.

Google has developed a version of Google Maps application compatible with GPS-enabled smartphones running on Symbian S60 (3rd edition) OS.

Native means that the application comes integrated in the phone's GPS capabilities, delivering much faster performance than its java-based version.

Motorola has unveiled a new version of its fastest-selling MC70 mobile digital assistant, which now comes with an in-built GPS receiver.

The device is shock protected and is designed to operate in almost any harsh environment providing full functionality.

It uses SIRF III technology for GPS coverage and supports EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.

LG and Verizon have launched two new cell phones in the USA, the LG-VX10000 Voyager and the LG-VX8800 Venus.

Both handsets combine style and advanced features, such as 2.8" touch-screen, QWERTY keyboard, 2Mpix camera, Bluetooth, microSD port, GPS, and Mobile TV.

Samsung i550 is a new 3G GPS phone expected to ship in November.

AT&T unveiled some information about the Motorola Q9H, named MOTO Q Global by the company.

This is a WM6-based 3G smartphone first announced back in February supporting GSM/EDGE/HSDPA networks, and featuring an integrated GPS receiver with location-based services applications, and a 2Mpix photo/video camera.

Samsung SGH-i560 is a new GPS-enabled slider phone available soon at Vodafone.

Running on Symbian OS, the device features GPRS/WCDMA/HSDPA connectivity, a 3.2Mpix camera with 16x digital zoom, and a 2.4" QVGA 262k color TFT display.

The handset is expected to be released sometime in Q4 2007 for around €415.
