Helio in partnership with Samsung has just launched the thinnest 3G clamshell yet. The new Samsung Fin measures just 11.4mm thick but packs in all sorts of goodies, including a 3Mpix camera, dual screen, Bluetooth, microSD slot, integrated GPS and additional services. Helio Fin comes in Blue and Black color and is available online and at Helio stores for $175, after a $50 rebate.

Helio has launched a new downloadable client, called Mail for Microsoft Exchange. Using the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol the application allows users to remotely synchronize and access business email, contacts and calendar data from their corporate Exchange Server.

Owners of the Helio Ocean smartphone can wirelessly download the mail client to their device and after a brief set up, send and receive email, create and send calendar appointments and access corporate contact lists.

Helio has just released the Ocean, their new 3G dual-slider. This smartphone costs $295 at Helio Stores and online. Starting May 21 it will be available at selected GameStop and EB Games locations and after that at thousands of additional retail stores across the U.S.

Starting May 8th Helio plans to shut down its Hybrid EV-DO/Wi-Fi service. Until that time users are still able to access Boingo Hotspots and 3G data service.

Hybrid was developed to detect the type of connection used and to automatically switch to the cheapest one.

Helio plans to make refunds due to these circumstances.

Helio LLC has opened its first branded retail store in Santa Monica, Calif., stating it as a unique wireless shopping experience.

As the company says the stores were “conceived with influences from the hottest nightclubs and boutiques around the world” centered around a main lounge where customers can test out Helio devices and watch programming on a 60-inch plasma TV.

The new handset - the Samsung Drift was launched by Helio, mobile virtual network operator. The phone is in two versions white and black. Helio announced that it is just the first of many coming handsets from Samsung. Helio added that GPS will be a default feature in all coming phones.

Helio (MVNO) declared a new data card – the Hybrid and thus becoming the first mobile virtual operator who can offer such a card. Sierra AirCard 580 represents a base off for the card. Connectivity of Helio's Hybrid card is only EV-DO Rev 0. Its software allows a connection between WiFi and the data card for Windows notebooks (those that have an in-built WiFi).

$85 monthly is a cost for unlimited data access with the Hybrid and the card is provided for free with a 2-year activation.
