Some sources report that HP will soon release a new consumer-oriented iPAQ smartphone. The HP Oak, as they name it, will available in Europe via Vodafone for about £260. The device's known specifications include:
- Windows Mobile 6.1;
- Touchscreen and slide out keypad;
- 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity;
- Wi-Fi connectivity;
- Bluetooth 2.

HP has finally decided to start shipping its iPAQ 900 / 914 3G business communicator, which was announced back in September of last year.
The device's system was updated to Windows Mobile 6.1, in rest everything remains the same: 2.46" display, Wi-Fi, GPS, HSDPA, 3Mpix camera, and a 1800mAh battery.
Worldwide shipping should start on June 30th.

There's a good chance that at least one of HP iPAQ 900 series smartphones will be available in the U.S. as it has recently been spotted at the FCC site.
The most likely carrier is AT&T, though no company has announced its intention to pick up the handset yet.

It looks like HP will soon start producing Bluetooth headsets, as a couple of their noise-canceling wireless headphones were recently spotted at the FCC website. They weren't showcased at CES, so we can expect the official release in the coming months. |

It looks like 2008 will be a busy year for HP. The company has recently released its new HP iPAQ 112 PDA in Korea, and, according to reports, plans to release another two iPAQ 610 and iPAQ 910 early next year. HP has partnered with two Taiwanese companies, Foxconn Group and Inventec Appliances, to coordinate its handset production with them.

It looks like the HP iPAQ 600 smartphone, mentioned earlier on our site, has been approved by the FCC. However, we have no photos of it available due to the confidentiality request put in by the HP. One of the device's downsides is that it cannot operate simultaneously in both WLAN and WWAN HSDPA networks.
