U.S. Cellular began selling the HTC Desire. This Android 2.1 powered smartphone is available for $199.95 after a $70 mail-in-rebate with a two-year contract. Its features include 3.7" touchscreen, GPS, Wi-Fi, and a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Just to inform you, Vodafone has issued an Android 2.2 Froyo update for the HTC Desire. So get your phone updated now if you haven't done this already.

T-Mobile has revealed the name of its first (and THE first) HSPA+ smartphone that'll be released in the near future. It's called G2 and is manufactured by HTC. More details are expected to surface in the coming weeks.

U.S. Cellular announced its plans to launch the Android powered HTC Desire on August 27th. The device comes with a 3.7" touchscreen, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 5Mpix camera, and HTC's Sense UI. The carrier also said they'll be launching three more Android smartphones later this year. The price for the HTC Desire wasn't disclosed.

This is the first appearance of the upcoming HTC Desire HD on video. Known features include Android 2.2. Froyo as the OS, a 4.3" WVGA display, 8Mpix camera with dual-led flash and support for 720p HD video recording.

HTC has confirmed it will be updating the Desire, Legend, and Wildfire with Android 2.2 "Froyo" during the third quarter of this year.

Just to let you know, the unlocked version of the HTC Legend with North American 3G is now available from a number of retailers in the States. Look it up if you're interested, it's under $500.

With the help of the root-only SetCPU app for the HTC EVO 4G, the handset's processor was successfully overclocked to 1.2+GHz, which resulted in a linpack improvement of over 25% with no impact on stability. Now all we need is a 3,000mAh battery. Check out the video below:

Acording to a trusted source, there are five new WP7 handsets from HTC coming to North American market. First up is the HTC Scorpion (aka, Olympian) which should be going to Verizon and Bell Mobility, and is rumored to be packing Froyo with WiMax and a 1.5GHz Snapdragon CPU. Others are four worldphones with dual-mode CDMA and GSM on-board: the HTC Spark_W (Bell Mobility and Verizon), HTC Gold_W (Sprint), HTC Shubert (Telus), and the HTC Mondrian (Telus, Rogers and AT&T).
