According to some sources, HTC will be releasing its G1 in China sometime in Q1 2009. The production of the device will be carry out by Dopod, HTC's subsidiary in China, and the phone will be modified to support Chinese cellular networks, maybe even TD-SCDMA.

The device here looks like some modification of the HTC Touch HD dubbed the T8290. Apparently it supports WiMAX and was supposedly developed for Russia’s Yota WiMax network. Details are scarce at the moment, but we'll keep you up-to-date. Here's what we know about the handset's specifications:

• GSM and WiMax support;
• 3.8" 800 x 480 touch-sensitive display;
• Wi-Fi 802.

A portion of bad news: HTC announced today that thier anticipated Touch HD won't be released in the U.S. because of the large amount of time needed to launch the North American 3G version into mass production. Tough luck... However, they say the've got some other cool devices coming up soon. How do you like that?

The authors of the review complain that the device has no flash and that it's relative large, but overall the Touch HD is a "must have" handset. Check out the video review below (in Deutsch), or read the translation of it by Google.

A French retailer' site offers the HTC Touch Diamond in a variety of new colors, including Blue, Pink, Brown, Red, White, Yellow, and Purple. It's your choice. The only color that's missing here is apparently green. :)

T-Mobile's HTC Shadow II is gettin ready for launch. It is a Windows Mobile 6.1-based UMA-capable and HotSpot@Home-enabled handset, successor to the previous Shadow. The official release is scheduled for October 15th. T-Mobile customers will be able to get it for $149.99 with new contract and mail-in rebate.

Some sources report that HTC’s Touch HD will be soon available from the Italian carrier TIM. If you're already glad you're an Italian, don't get too excited as the price of €849 (about $1195) will most likely cross out all your intentions. But no one cancelled the carrier's subsidies, right?

HTC’s S740 has passed the FCC’s quality check. Unfortunately, we didn't get much info from the FCC filing. So far we only know that it supports EDGE 850/1900, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi networks, and there was no word on the North American 3G either. That's all, expect more details to surface soon.

While the HTC Touch Dual isn't new, Canadian Telus has decided to add it to its lineup only yesterday. Here's the pricing:
