Rumor has it that Android-powered HTC Magic will be launched in the UK on May 1st, making it the 2nd Android device. The device will be available for free for users who pick a GBP25 contract or higher. In case you forgot, the HTC Magic sports a 3.2Mpix camera, capacitive touchscreen, HSDPA support, and GPS.

HTC has introduced today its rumored Snap. It is the company's only smartphone with a front-facing QWERTY keyboard, and will be released globally this quarter, while the unlocked S522 for the U.S. market will be available during summer.

It looks like Orange France will be launching 6 new Android-powered handsets in 2009, one of which is HTC Hero. According to the source, a few weeks after the release of the Hero there will be another HTC Android phone released, but its name wasn't specified.

The HTC Touch Pro2 (aka Rhodium) will be heading to T-Mobile. Besides the two new live shots of the said device, there is a leaked ROM over at xda-developers with device number RHOD21000, CID of T-MOB010, and target language listed as “USA”. It is packed with usual Windows Mobile fare from both 6.1 and 6.5 including Facebook, YouTube, Opera, the HTC-specific game Teeter and even a MyFaves tab on TouchFLO 3D.

According to Coolsmartphone, the UMA-enabled HTC Touch 3G will be hitting Orange UK soon, which means that it will be able to seamlessly transfer between GSM and Wi-Fi resulting in some decent savings for the end user.

So far the T-Mobile Shadow is the only Windows Mobile device that supports UMA, in the US.

According to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News, the HTC's new QWERTY-packing Maple smartphone is due to launch at CTIA next month. It is positioned as a BlackBerry rival and will probably draw loads of attention even from trusted BlackBerry fans.
