HTC EVO 4G coming to Japan

HTC's EVO 4G persists as one of the best phones on the American market well over half a year since its release on Sprint, and it's just now getting ready to take its 4.3-inch, Snapdragon-powered act international.

The phone is coming on Japan's big CDMA carrier, KDDI au, as the EVO WiMAX ISW11HT, and is going to be carrying over the WiMAX radio.

HTC Merge headed to Verizon Wireless

Documents seen on the Federal Communications Commission web site reveal that recently announced HTC Merge is most likely headed to Verizon Wireless first.

It is a new CDMA world phone that has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and Google's Android operating system.

For this moment Verizon still hasn't confirmed that it will sell the Merge.

HTC Thunderbolt launch delayed due to battery life issues

According to the latest details in the non-launch of the HTC Thunderbolt, the handset has now been delayed due to issues with battery life.

As “people familiar with the matter" noted, the battery life is so bad that it is even difficult to test the phone.

It sounds like there are some updates being made to the firmware and the Thunderbolt is still being worked on for an upcoming release.

Android 2.2 update for the HTC Aria

As it was announced by AT&T, the Android 2.2 update for the Aria is now available and Aria owners can now enjoy an official taste of Android 2.2.

The update  file is currently available on HTC’s website.

The Aria is a strong entry-level Android handset for AT&T that debuted last June.

It features a 3.2 inches HVGA display, 5-megapixel camera with zoom and video capture, 3G connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth, and 512 MB of flash memory, microSD expansion(up to 32 GB).

HTC Desire HD, Desire Z, Desire and Incredible S get the Gingerbread update in Q2

The arrival date of Gingerbread update is set at some point in the second quarter of this year.

The company’s spokesperson confirmed the information: "We are excited to announce that the Desire HD, Desire Z, Desire and Incredible S will receive the Gingerbread update in Q2"

Before the official statement, it was wildly speculated that the original HTC Desire could be left behind since it was effectively replaced by the newly announced Desire S.

HTC Incredible S shipping this week in UK

Though it'd originally been pegged for the second quarter, HTC is going to hurry up with the launch of its new flagship - the Incredible S. It comes to the UK this week.

Pre-orders are going on as we speak with shipments promised for tomorrow, but there's a little change: rather than shipping with Gingerbread, the phones will come with Froyo.

An upgrade to Gingerbread is promised for the near future.

Verizon is expected to starting up its Windows Phone 7 adventure with the HTC 7 Trophy - a new CDMA smartphone.

We already knew this handset would be coming in early 2011, but now WinRumors has narrowed that down to a launch at some point in late March.

Verizon's announcement is expected as early as February 28th, this coming Monday, and the NoDo update - should be preloaded on the device from the start.

Sprint launches HTC Arrive March 20th for $200

HTC Arrive, also known as 7 Pro, is the first Windows Phone 7 CDMA device.

It will be available at Sprint March 20th for $199.99 on a two-year contract after $100 mail-in rebate.

The device features a 3.6-inch WVGA display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel camera with flash and 720p video capture, 16GB of internal storage, and 802.11b/g/n WiFi.

In-store pre-orders begin today.

Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update coming to Nexus One and Nexus S

The highly anticipated Android 2.3.3 update is finally rolling out to Google Nexus One and Nexus S handsets. The release will begin to roll out tonight and will take a few weeks to hit all Nexus handsets.

The latest rumor also suggests both of the Nexus-branded handsets may be the only handsets to see Android 2.3.3 as an update. The remaining recent Android handsets from Motorola, HTC and others will jump past Android 2.
