Alltel has corrected the U.S. carriers' mistake of giving a single color to their HTC Touch smartphone.

Previously available only in Grey, the Alltel Touch now comes in a Burgundy flavor - and it looks nice.

No specs have been changed (of course) and the price of  $129.99 with 2-year contract also remains the same.

HTC announced they plan to manufacture and sell 2 million Touch Diamonds by the end of the year.

It doesn't sound unrealistic, especially when you consider that previously the Touch smartphone has managed to hit the 1 million mark in just 5 months.

We're sure that Touch Diamond won't be less popular, so go ahead, HTC, launch the

The spokesman announced that the company's new Diamond smartphone will be available there in June for $772 sans contract.

This could mean that the U.S. release is not far away from now, or is it? We'll see, but it would be a shame if this beauty won't make it stateside, after all this is the best HTC smartphone yet (IMHO).

Alltel and HTC have issued a system update for the HTC Touch smartphone that will upgrade its EV-DO Rev. 0 radio to Rev. A, which allows for faster download and upload speeds. The update will also improve Bluetooth performance and will add the ability to receive video messages.

FCC has recently revealed a new version of the HTC's Touch Dual smartphone, the HTC NEON300.

Even in the report it was indicated that the latter is in fact Touch Dual. The documents seen on the FCC revealed nothing new; the expected list of features was known long before the announcement.
