Telus has launched the new HTC 7 Surround Windows Phone 7 smartphone. The device features Dolby Surround Sound with SRS enabled speakers as well as a 1GHz processor, 8GB of internal memory, a 3.8" (800 x 480) touchscreen display, and a 5Mpix HD camera. Pricing and availability details weren't disclosed.

A video comparison of the Windows Phone 7 powered HTC HD7 and the Android Froyo based HTC Desire HD. Both phones  come with huge 4.3" displays and will be available to European customers on October 21.

O2, Orange, T-Mobile UK are now accepting pre-orders for three new Windows Phone 7 devices, which include the HTC HD7, the HTC 7 Mozart, and the Samsung Omnia 7. All three handset will be available for purchase starting October 21st.

Three in the UK issued an over-the-air (OTA) update for the HTC Desire. Version 2.25.771.1 is includes the latest iteration of HTC Sense, 720p HD video capture capability, HTC's App Share widget, HTC Caller ID, and an enhanced multi-language keyboard. Also, the included HTC's Sync software provides users with the ability to sync their music with iTunes.

Sprint announced an official OTA maintenance-release software update for the Samsung Epic 4G. The software will be automatically downloaded to your phone since this is a recommended update, and will take abot 15 mins to be downloaded and installed.The new software version is: S:D700.0.5S.DI18; to perform the update your device must be on software version DI07. Older versions can be updated to DI07 in a Sprint Service and Repair Center.

Here's some unconfirmed info on the Samsung's upcoming Windows Phone 7-powered HD7 smartphone. The handset is likely to hit the market this coming October 18th, where O2 UK will sell it for €79 on a two year €20 monthly contract, or you can choose the unlocked version for €559. Rumored features of the phone include:

The unlocked version of the HTC Desire Z is now up for pre-order at Amazon U.K. for £429.99 ($672). It is available to Vodafone, Orange, O2, and T-Mobile and will start shipping October 11.The HTC Desire Z resembles T-Mobile's new G2, and offers a 800MHz Qualcomm 7230 processor, a 5Mpix camera with 720p HD video recording, and a large 3.7" touchscreen display, and "Fast Boot" technology.

T-Mobile U.K. has issued the Android 2.2 Froyo OTA update to its HTC Desire users, that will be available for weeks to come. Before applying the update be sure to backup your data.
