Google has officially announced the Nexus One this week. This comes as no surprise to anybody, the handset's been a badly kept secret, and now the Web is full of its reviews, many of which express dissapointment.The phone is available today with support for T-Mobile bands at a price of $529 unlocked, shipping to the US, UK, Singapore and Hong Kong, or for $179 with a 2-year T-Mobile US contract (both with free overnight shipping in the US).

Apparently Rogers will be exchanging their users' handsets (on the customers' will, of cource). Owners of the HTC Dream will be offered to replace their current handset with the Android 2.1 based Magic, for FREE. Thus Dream users will get to choose whether they want a handset with the newer firmware or the one with a physical QWERTY keyboard.

Apparently the HTC Touch Pro2 and Dash 3G owners on T-Mobile won't be getting a Windows Mobile 6.5 update sooner than 2-3 weeks from now. But don't worry, the said update is officially confirmed and on its way. The original release date was January 6th.

The current build of the software is far from being functional, but atleast there's hope. More details here.

The tweet above says:The firmware for Diamond 2 is not planned. Of all the existing communicators on the market only the HD2 will get WM7 update.Though we're pretty sure this info probably refers to the Russian market solely.

This is actually a leaked version of the ROM running on HTC Hero.

In addition to the previous post, here are some screenshots taken from the leaked build of the new Sense UI for the HTC's Android 2.1 powered devices.

As you see, this leaked build runs fine on the HTC hero. Officially the new UI will become available along with the release of the upcoming HTC device codenamed Espresso.
