SprintUsers has recently posted some off-screen photos showing release dates and pricing for some low-eng handsets scheduled to be released soon on Sprint. Let's get to the most interesting part, shall we?  The long-awaited HTC Touch Pro2 is in the list and ready to be launched on September 8 at an unsubsidized, rebate-free price of $599.99.There's also a link to a PDF file, the internal "Quick Reference Brief" for the Touch Pro2, part of which includes a comparison chart where the Touch Pro2 meets face to face with the yet unreleased AT&T's LG Monaco and HTC Warhawk, as well as Verizon's Omnia II.

Ai.rs blog has posted the list of specifications of the upcoming mid-end HTC's Mega smartphone. Not bad, and not too impressive, but at a reasonable price point it will make a great purchase. Here's the list:

• Window Mobile 6.5 OS;
• Quad-band GSM/WCDMA/HSPA support;
• 3.2Mpix camera;
• microSD slot;
• 802.11 b/g;
• Bluetooth 2.

Here's a new video from Vietnam showing off the upcoming HTC Click. The phone looks like a cheaper lower-end version of the HTC Magic. It runs the Android "Donut" build 1.50.999.0, and features a microSD slot, 1100mAh battery, standard 3.5-mm headphone jack up top, camera (no flash), and a pretty small screen compared to the Magic. Also, no SenseUI.

FCC has recently approved the new HTC Whitestone, a presumed Diamond2 variant for Verizon with a 3.6" WVGA display, 5Mpix camera, and support for CDMA / EV-DO networks. It looks like GSM / EDGE are also supported, but apparently these are non-US bands.

DigiTimes is reporting a Q4 launch for two new handsets from HTC, codenamed Mega and Click. Both handsets will fall into the mid-range smartphone category and are expected to drop at around $300, each. The HTC Mega reportedly features:

• Windows Mobile 6.5;
• 2.8-inch QVGA (240×320) touchscreen;
• 3 megapixel camera;
• GPS;
• 528 MHz processor

The HTC Click's exact specs are unknown, but presumably it's the same Mega powered by Android OS instead of WinMo.

According to a recent report by SlashGear, there's a new firmware update on its way to HTC Hero. Details on the exact contents are not available yet, but according to the original source it includes the usual "performance improvements and bug fixes". We'll see.

Pocketnow.com has posted a vido walkthrough of the the TouchFlo 3D 2.6 UI for the upcoming HTC Leo handset. In case you're wondering, this build runs on a Touch Diamond2, which shows great performance even if the hardware isn't exactly high-end.

According to EngadgetMobile, the AT&T has cancelled the upcoming release of the HTC Lancaster, which was supposed to become the company's first Android-powered handset. Instead, AT&T subscribers will be getting two great WinMo 6.5. devices - the HTC Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 (aka the Warhawk/Fortress), which are actually said to become available in October on AT&T.

Rogers has recently lowered the prices for a couple of HTC's Android handsets, Dream and Magic. They both are currently available for just CAD$79.99 on a 3-year contract. If this long term commitment doesn't scare you, get yourself one of these phones without hesitation.

The T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro 2 has been released and is now available online and in stores at a price of $349.99 on a 2-year contract. Just to remind you, its key specifications include a 3.6″ touchscreen, sliding QWERTY keyboard, 3.2Mpix camera, WiFi and GPS support.
