An updated firmware build version 1.93 for the HTC Touch Diamond has been released today in the UK and other European countries. The new ROM improves on camera navigation, text alert speed, tab-switching speed and a new city selector in the weather tab. Available for download now.
As announced earlier this month, today Vodafone UK has released the HTC Touch Pro WM-based smartphone. It is now available for purchase from the official distributor Devicewire for some £514.99 (including VAT). Any takers? Anyone?
Be informed, that starting today all those who own an original unlocked (not carrier-branded) HTC handset or a UMPC can visit the support section of the respective device and download a new ROM update for it. Previously this was only available to HTC's e-Club members, who in their turn still have exclusive access to other downloadable goodies for their handsets.
After the appearance of the unofficial HTC Touch Diamond ROM that enables support for the 850MHz GSM, the manufacturer decided to release an build of its own, which btw not only adds support or the aforementioned spectrum, but includes a number of minor changes and fixes as well. Yes, apparently HTC is preparing a new smartphone, folks. Unfortunately, Bluetooth SIG has only leaked the device's name, "Rose", but I guess there's not much time left before some sniffers take of the cover from the misterious phone. Sprint customers who own either HTC Touch or Mogul can now update their handset to Windows Mobile 6.1.The Touch will now support Sprint's high-speed EV-DO Rev A. network, and will take advantage of the popular Opera web browser, and improved GPS functionality.The HTC Mogul receives the same Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional upgrade. It will have updated versions of Microsoft Office and Live Search, as well as support for Sprint TV service.
