Sharp SH903iTV Pink cellphone/TV hybrid

NTT has prepared the new design for cellphone/TV hybrid Sharp SH903iTV. Now the handset comes in a hot "Pink" color. This way the producer plans to attract fashionable young people.

The main features of Sharp SH903iTV are:

  • 3" widescreen display with high resolution of 204x400 pixels, displaying 256,000 colors. It is integrated nicely into SH903iTV design;
  • the ability to view and record TV shows, which are digitally broadcasted;

Helio Hybrid Service to be Shut Down

Starting May 8th Helio plans to shut down its Hybrid EV-DO/Wi-Fi service. Until that time users are still able to access Boingo Hotspots and 3G data service.Hybrid was developed to detect the type of connection used and to automatically switch to the cheapest one. Helio plans to make refunds due to these circumstances.

iDEN-CDMA hybrid Motorola ic902

Sprint’s new Motorola ic902 got the FCC approval. It is an iDEN-CDMA phone as is indicated by “ic”,  “902” the model number represents it is superior to 402 and 502 phones. This clamshell has dedicated camera and music keys on one of its sides, and the phone has stereo speakers and two color displays, with the internal one a QVGA with 2.2” size.

FCC approves Samsung W531 a CDMA-GSM hybrid

A new clamshell phone got the FCC approval. Meet Samsung W531 which is a successor of the Samsung A790. The W531 device is dual-mode phone which is working in CDMA and capable of roaming in GSM networks. The phone has an internal antenna and 1.3 megapixel camera . The Samsung W531 will be available in two versions:

Hybrid prepaid service launched by Boots

As Boost Mobile recently declared they are providing a new "hybrid prepaid" service in return to customer demand for more pay-as-you-go options. A service unites elements of traditional prepaid service with additional advantages:

  • lower per-minute pricing,
  • push-to-talk service,
  • unlimited night and weekend calling.

The Boost Premium Prepaid plans include three monthly rate packages of $30, $50 and $70.

Helio (MVNO) declared a new data card the Hybrid and thus becoming the first mobile virtual operator who can offer such a card. Sierra AirCard 580 represents a base off for the card. Connectivity of Helio's Hybrid card is only EV-DO Rev 0. Its software allows a connection between WiFi and the data card for Windows notebooks (those that have an in-built WiFi).

$85 monthly is a cost for unlimited data access with the Hybrid and the card is provided for free with a 2-year activation.
