During the MWC 2009 event, i-mate has announced a couple of its new smartphones, including the Legionnaire (pic) and Centurion. The first is a full-touchscreen handset bound for release in Q3 of 2009 for $500. The second doesn't have a touchscreen, but it does come with a QWERTY keyboard, as well as HSDPA support, GPS, Bluetooth, 2Mpix camera. The Centurion will be available in the second half of 2009 for $550.

The i-mate's so called Project Centurion is so far the smallest QWERTY smartphone on the market running a Windows Mobile OS. It has the size of a credit card, and features a 2Mpix camera, d-pad navigation keys, QWERTY keyboard, and support for HSDPA data networks. The release is scheduled in the end of this year.

This is first photo of the rumored i-mate "Hummer" WM 6.1 handset, and damn it looks bad. Specs are fine, and the phone's supposed to be ruggedized, but they could've atleast hide those exposed screws...
You should know, that most of the last year's rumored i-mate devices weren't released, and I think that "Hummer" won't be an exception...

FCC has approved a new Windows Mobile handset from i-mate, the Ultimate 8502. It has a pretty impressive feature set, which includes HSUPA, TV out, integrated GPS, QWERTY, and much more.
We were hoping they would also approve the 9502 model, which is pretty much the same as the 8502, but in addition comes with a VGA touchscreen display.

Australian Telstra will be the world's first cellular operator to carry i-mate Ultimate 8502 and 9502 WM6-based smartphones. It also has an exclusive right to be the only carrier to offer them in Australia. The release will take place in early March.

Here are two latest additions to i-mate's Ultimate lineup, the 9502 and the 8502. Both run on Windows Mobile OS features and are GPS-capable. The 9502 model comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, similar to the Sidekick Slide, and features HSUPA/Wi-Fi connectivity, a VGA display, and video output.
