Thanks to the guys from TmoNews now we know when the Magenta carrier will be releasing Ice Cream Sandwich updates for few of its phones, including the Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Amaze 4G.The leaked document suggests Samsung will get Android 4.0 on May 14th, with HTC smartphones following two days later.T-Mobile will also update following devices:

Motorola smartphone with ICS and an Intel processor leaked

The details are still rather scarce, however an image of what is said to be the first Motorola smartphone that is powered by an Intel processor and running Ice Cream Sandwich has surfaced.This yet to be named smartphone will be running on the Intel Medfield platform and as you can see from the above pic, the handset will drop the hardware buttons.The only other details involve the camera, which is said to be a “major selling point” and include “instant-on capabilities as well as 15 frame-per-second burst capture.

Sony today has released alpha Ice Cream Sandwich builds of the work-in-progress update.Sony Ericsson has released alpha builds of Ice Cream Sandwich for the Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V, and Xperia ray.It is, however, not recommended that you put these early ROMs on your smartphone unless you’re a developer putting it on a non-essential device.The ROMs show many of the new features of Ice Cream Sandwich, but also disable many basic functions of the smartphones.

Sony Ericsson Xperia arc and neo submitted for Android 4.0 certification

It appears that the Sony Ericsson company has recently submitted the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to the PCRB for certification.So if the Samsung Galaxy Nexus wasn’t your cup of tea, unlocked Xperia arc and Xperia neo handsets at $350 and $300 respectively seems like a good deal, especially if they could potentially be shipped with Android 4.0 in the near future.

Finally, Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system is ported over to Nokia’s platform.This is an extremely early build, so do expect to be on the receiving end of your fair share of bugs and non-working features.Well, at least this port proves one thing – there is always some life left in the legs of old and discontinued devices, it is only a matter of how large the fan base is.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich ported to Galaxy S II and Optimus 3D

While the U.S. is still patiently awaiting the official release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, our favorite phone,  Samsung Galaxy S II, as well as the LG Optimus 3D at the moment has just received an Ice Cream Sandwich port.We do know that the Galaxy S II is set to get the Android 4.0 update at some point in the future but it’s still a bit iffy as to when. Plus, Samsung will likely have to implement its TouchWiz user interface into the Ice Cream Sandwich code, which could take even longer.
