Today at CTIA Sprint has launched the BlackBerry 8350i, which is the first BB Curve to support Nextel’s iDEN network. The phone's features include:
- PTT (Push-to-Talk);
- GPS navigation;
- Wi-Fi connectivity;
- 2Mpix camera;
- microSD card expansion;
- Mobile Office software suite
It should be available this year for a yet unknown price.

A new iDEN clamshell from Motorola, the i776, has been approved by the FCC today.
It is compatible with Sprint Nextel's iDEN network, and features a camera, Bluetooth, GPS, push-to-talk functionality and an external antenna.

Soon Sprint will exclusively release the new Motorola V950.
This is a ruggedized PTT-capable clamshell phone, which suppors the carrier's recently launched QChat based Push-to-Talk service. This will allow users to make PTT based long distance calls, similarly to the iDEN network.

- PTT capabilities;
- 2Mpix camera with LED flash;
- microSD card slot;
- Dedicated external music keys;
- Bluetooth with A2DP;
- Built-in GPS with Sprint Navigation service
No word on pricing and availability.

Sprint has finally decided to add some new devices to its Nextel iDEN network, one of which is the Wi-Fi-enabled BlackBerry. It will be available later this year along with some other handsets from Sanyo, Samsung, Motorola and LG.
They are all CDMA phones, but use iDEN network for push-to-talk.
We'll let you know once the iDEN BlackBerry is released.

Good news for iDEN fans. Motorola plans to release a new RAZR2-like handset for the iDEN network in the fourth quarter of this year. The phone will be called CABO and will feature a 3Mpix camera, Bluetooth connectivity, external touch controls, and a memory expansion slot.

FCC threatens to shut down the Sprint's iDEN network because the 800MHz spectrum it uses interferes with public safety channels. Several years ago Sprint was offered to move the network to another spectrum, and the carrier has already spent about $1 billion for that purpose, but now FCC says that the process of transition is slow and off schedule.

Both phones are extremely thin and lightweight, measuring just 0.5" and weighing 3.88 oz, and come in candybar form factor with the first available in titanium gray/black slate trim while the latter is white with an espresso trim.
