Orange France has just announced they have sold 70,000 iPhones in the first month of sales. Well, this isn't bad, but considering that in the first five days the company has sold about 40,000 handsets, the outcome indicates that sales-rates dropped by more than 70%. Don't know what to think... Anyway, in a couple Apple plans to make an official report on iPhone sales.

Here is a little video of the new iRiver (GSM) phone presented at the CES in Las Vegas. It slightly resembles the iPhone with its wide 480x272 resolution touch-sensitive display and supports multiple video and audio formats. We don't know yet if it has 3G support, definitely hoping on that.

You all probably know that a new iPhone firmware update 1.1.3 is coming soon, and we are glad to inform you that, according to MacScoop, it will add Copy/Paste functionality, a very needed feature currently lacking in the handset. As expected, Apple didn't confirm that information, but we surely hope this is true.

According to O2's CEO Matthew Key, who recently met with Steve Jobs, Apple iPhone turns out to be the best selling device in the carrier's history. He said that the company plans to sell about 200,000 units by the end of January. And that's not all, data usage has increased tremendously over the previous periods, and now O2 is experiencing solid revenues.

The handset you see on the picture is "iMobile", a new Chinese iPhone clone that supports quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and looks exactly like the original iPhone. It comes with a 3.2" QVGA touch-screen, 1.3Mpix camera, and supports both SMS and EMS messaging, T-Flash cards (up to 1GB), and stereo Bluetooth.

According to the rumor website 9to5 Mac, at the upcoming Macworld Keynote event Steve Jobs plans to make an official announcement that iPhone sales have passed the 5 million mark. We don't know for sure yet, but it seems quite possible. Looks like Apple intends to keep its promise and sell 10 million handsets by the end of 2008.

According to the Dial-a-Phone blog, LG Viewty is apparently outselling the Apple iPhone in Europe. LG claims it has sold 310,000 phones in just 5 weeks. The success of the LG Viewty is explainable, as it has everything iPhone lacks, starting from network compatibility and finishing with a lower price and shorter contract.
