Looks like some AT&T stores offer refurbished iPhones for sale.

These are 4GB and 8GB versions available for $199 and $249 respectively upon a new activation. Apparently, the offer is only valid in New England, but we expect it to extend to other states as well.

Sony ICF-ClipMK2 iPhone Clock Radio Launched

This is the Sony ICF-ClipMK2 - a stereo clock radio for the Apple iPhone.

This one-of-a-kind device comes with a remote control with full access to the iPhone's menu along with the clock's radio tuning and volume control. The adjustable holder mechanism perfectly fits the iPhone, but can also hold other smaller devices such as iPod and other players.

Irish O2 to Offer Apple iPhone starting March 14th!

Irish O2 to Offer Apple iPhone starting March 14th!

According to some sources, Apple is apparently planning to release the iPhone in Ireland on March 14.

Irish O2 will be the official carrier and will sell the handset for 399 EUR and 499 EUR for 8GB and 16 GB models respectively. Available calling plans will be as following:

  • 175 anytime minutes, 100 texts and 1GB of data - 45 EUR;
  • 700 anytime minutes, 150 texts and the same 1GB of data - 100 EUR;

Haptic Feedback for the iPhone's Keypad

Malcolm Hall and Eve Hoggan of the University of Glasgow are working on an application for the iPhone that will add haptic feedback to its virtual keypad.

This means you will always know when you press a key. Currently the software is in its early development stages, and only works in a special text entry mode.

Apple iPhone v1.1.4 Firmware Update Now Available

Apple has released a new firmware update v1.1.4 for the iPhone.

The update will allow it to run third-party apps created with the upcoming iPhone SDK, which btw is still not available. You can download the new firmware through iTunes.

Just don't forget, if you're using a cracked handset, stay away from the update until the iPhone hacking community jailbreaks it.

Not very pleasant news for some readers.

Unfortunately, the new iPhone SDK, of which release was scheduled on the end of February, could be delayed, as there's still no word from Apple.

Moreover, according to Business Week refering to a "reliable source" the SDK will be available in 1-3 weeks.

According to T-Mobile CEO Hamid Akhavan, the company will soon start selling the iconic iPhone in Austria, namely by mid-2008.

He also stated that T-Mobile plans to release a Google Android-based smartphone in Q4 2008.

AT&T Offers 16GB Apple iPhone

The 16GB iPhone appeared on the Apple.com webpage.

The price for the new version is $499 with a contract with AT&T. The old 8GB version still costs $399, but in the near future its stock will decrease.

As for the AT&T site, they list the 16GB model in the "Business Center".
