XSKN has come up with a category on its site called the "iPhone Nano". Of course, it could be just a typo, but do you recall when XSKN started selling cases for the iPhone 3G before the handset was even released?
Maybe this time they know something we don't? Time will tell.

Those looking for an officially unlocked iPhone 3G will probably like this piece of news. Apparently, the handset will be soon launching unlocked in Taiwan. And while Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwanese carrier for the iPhone, claims that the device will function only on their network, don't worry, it's not true. The only thing you'll be missing when inserting a different SIM-card is Chunghwa Telecom’s Hami services.

That's weird. Apparently the latest iPhone 2.2 firmware locks legally unlocked iPhones, which are currently available in Hong Kong and some European countries.
This issue was stated after a user from Germany bought an unlocked iPhone 3G in Hong Kong and updated it to version 2.2 back home. The handset has locked! And he is not alone who has such problem.
Apple should really look into this one to clarify the situation.

Hurray! We're glad to inform you that Linux can finally be ported to the first iPhone, iPhone 3G, and first-generation iPod touch platforms. The first version of the port is very raw and has a lot of the needed stuff missing, but that will be fixed in the future releases.
Here's what currently works:
- Framebuffer driver;
- Serial driver;
- Serial over USB driver;
- Interrupts, MMU, clock, etc.

iPhone's latest SDK contains a programming class called MPTVOutWindow, which enables the iPhone's Video-Out function, thus allowing the handset to send a video signal through the Dock Connector to an external display. This feature supports both landscape and portrait viewing modes, and will obviously be geared towards movie viewing.
The accelerometer is recognized in Video-Out mode, though the touch input appears to be disabled.

There are negative reports from users who have updated their iPhones to version 2.2. They say that iPhone 2.2 firmware considerably slows down 3G and even drains the battery by up to 4 times faster(!). Some of them confirmed the first fact by comparing two handsets side-by-side, one of which was running an older firmware version.
We'll wait for the official confirmation on both symptoms.
