The new Sanyo Katana Eclipse has passed the FCC thus proving its existence. It was spotted in a Sprint roadmap two weeks ago, but was considered fake until now.
There is almost no information about it, but basically what we can say judging by the photo, it's a music-centric phone, similar in design to Katana LX. According to the roadmap, the Katana Eclipse should be launched before August 17th.

Basing on available documents and drawings, this clamshell handset will feature EV-DO data, Bluetooth and a microSD card slot, dual screens and a built-in camera. The dimensions have changed in comparison with the original Katana: the phone lost 3.8mm in height and 1.

The new Sanyo SCP-6650 Katana II clamshell was recently found on FCC Site. The phone slightly differs from its predecessor: it shrinks 2 mm in width and 4 mm in height, features a larger external display positioned slightly lower on the front of the device, and comes with a 2.5mm headset jack. It also has a camera, internal antenna, and Bluetooth capability.
