Sixth Lenovo Smartphone To Show Up On MWC 2015

Lenovo are busy with the upcoming Mobile World Congress that is happening early next month. In fact, there has been whispers going around that up to half a dozen new handsets from Lenovo will be released, as the sixth new Vibe device, which will be known as the Vibe Max, will be part of the deal.

It will be a large screen device that measures 6”, sporting QHD resolution. It is starting to shape up to be a performance oriented device for all intents and purposes, as this also happens to be an Android-powered smartphone – the first of its kind, in fact, from Lenovo, which will come with a stylus.

Motorola remains dedicated to “pure Android”

Google has officially passed Motorola to Lenovo in a nearly $3 billion acquisition deal.While Motorola was under the control of Google, the company’s phones received faster upgrades and were outfitted with “pure” iterations of Android. Even with the acquisition, those things will not change, according to Motorola Mobility president Rick Osterloh.The company will remain headquartered in Chicago, and almost none of its smartphone plans are changing.

Motorola Finally Joins the Lenovo Family

Lenovo’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility has finally come to a close. Lenovo acquired Motorla Mobilty from Google, who purcahsed the compnay in 2011 for a cool $2.9 billion.The deal allows Lenovo a licence for Motorola’s portfolio and other intellectual property while Google hangs on to a number of Motorola patents. Anyway, Motorola will maintain its headquarters in Chicago.

Lenovo is looking to launch a new brand in China to compete with Xiaomi.If everything goes as planned, said brand/company will be open for business starting from April 2015.In any case, Lenovo’s mobile business keeps growing like crazy. They may struggle to reach customers in the West, but in their home market of China, they have no problems selling millions of phones every quarter.

Lenovo is looking to launch an all-metal phone in the near future. The company’s leaked Sisley smartphone looks very much like the new iPhone 6 but it’s even better.Similarly to Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha, this is not a high-end device. Rather, it sports a 5-inch 720p HD screen, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. Moreover, the Sisley will come with a pair of solid cameras, 13MP with LED flash on the back, and 8MP selfie shooter.

Lenovo announced a trio of new tablets with 8-, 10- and 13-inch screens.The last of the pack, called Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro, is also the most interesting device, boasting a built-in pico projector.This 13-inch beast sports a 2560×1440 pixels display, Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core chip clocked at 1.86GHz, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, and a massive 9600mAh battery that should keep the tablet working for up to 15 hours.

Lenovo would look to bring forth a spin-off of the 8-inch Miix 2 tablet nearly one year after the second-gen’s release.The equivalent of roughly $240 (Yuan 1,499) doesn’t sound particularly economical.
