According to EngadgetMobile, the LG Chocolate Touch from Verizon is slated for a November 5 launch. Given the upcoming releases of the DROID and Droid Eris, which are both launching in the same period, this handset is going to get it's a$$ kicked. Then the fact that Chocolate Touch has almost nothing in common with the BL40 should also be taken into consideration.

Telus has announced the release date for it's iPhone 3G - November 5th - which is the same day the carrier's HSPA+ network begins its operation. Prices for the handset aren't attractve, as we hoped them to be:

$99.99 on a three-year contract for the 8GB iPhone 3G;
$199.99 on a three-year contract for the 16GB iPhone 3GS;
$299.99 on a three-year contract for the 32GB iPhone 3GS

The LG's new Chocolate Touch VX8575 is now listed at Verizon's website, coupled with its press images. The current release date is showing at November 5th, while the pricing is still unknown at this point, but is expected to be around $100 or less.

Vodafone has recently released the Sony Ericsson Satio, HTC Tattoo, and LG GM750 for its customers in the UK. All three are available for free on contract:

• HTC Tattoo: Android, resistive QVGA display and a 3.2Mpix camera - free on a £25 monthly plan.
• GM750: WinMo 6.5, 5Mpix camera - free on a £25 plan.

LG has added three new affordable handsets to its collection, the GU230, GS200 and GB170, targeted at developing markets.

There's not much to say about the first two. The LG GU230 and GS200 will be equipped with 128õ160 pixel displays, and will have Bluetooth connectivity. They both will also have twin brothers called the GU220 and GS190 that will be supposedly released on different markets.

LG has officially announced the BL20 Chocolate, the lower-end sibling of the BL40 Chocolate Touch. According to to the company's website, the slider will be available for about €269, which is a fairly decent price tag for the features you'll get. They've also posted some never-before-seen shots of the handset. You can see them below, as well as a list of specs of the BL20.

The LG GB230 is probably the only cell phone which supports FM radio without the necessity to plug in the headphones. That's why in comes with the fat "Wireless FM" logo under the screen. In rest, it's a low-end slider handset with a 176 x220 screen, microSD slot, Bluetooth 2.1, and USB connectivity. All for 4,790 rubles (about $158) in Russia.

The LG BL40 Chocolate is currently selling in the UK through Carphone Warehouse and its mobiles.co.uk division at prices ranging from £19.99 all the way up to £179.99 depending on carrier and plan. The offer is available for O2, Vodafone and Orange customers.
