LTE LG G Pad 8.3 to be on its way to Verizon

It appears that Verizon may've persuaded LG to pull together a cellular version of the G Pad for its network, if puzzle pieces from a recent FCC filing end up fitting together as we'd expect.All we know from the official docs is that an LG tablet, model number VK810, has been approved for the US market with LTE support for Bands 4 and 13 -- Verizon's magic numbers.The mystery tablet's dimensions are more or less identical to those of the G Pad 8.

According to ET News, LG will be announcing its next G Pro phablet handset next month at Mobile World Congress 2014. The device is said to ship with a 6 inch FHD display, Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, and Android 4.4 Kit Kat out of the box.Previous rumors suggested that the LG G Pro 2 would ship with a display resolution higher than 1080p (1440 x 2560), so we’ll have to see how everything pans out when the device is officially announced.

LG devices will go straight to Android 4.4 KitKat

LG may skip Android 4.3 altogether with some of its devices including the LG Optimus F3, Optimus F6, G Pad 8.3 tablet (Verizon’s model included), G Pro Lite, Optimus F7, Optimus L9 II, Optimus Vu II and Vu III, as well as two unannounced devices marked as LG-D315 and LG LS740.It will go straight to Android 4.4, while the LG Optimus 4X HD won’t go beyond Android 4.1.2, which is kinda expected considering this model, powered NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip.

AT&T is now offering the Moto X and the LG G2 for free, from now until January 31st when signing a new two-year contract.The LG G2 has been priced at $199 since its release late last year, and the Moto X received a price drop to $99 just a few months after its release.Both smartphones are top of the line Android handsets, with the LG G2 beating out the Moto X in terms of specs with its Snapdragon 800 processor, while Moto X is rocking some very amazing Motorola software, which allows the smartphone to be controlled by using voice commands.

Looks like Verizon Wireless is going to expand its tablet offering by adding the LG G Pad 8.3.In a short tweet EVleaks is saying LG’s Android tablet is “headed to Verizon.” No dates were given but we doubt this will be a long wait.The G Pad 8.3 is rocking 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core chip, 2GB of RAM, 1200 x 1920 pixels screen, 5-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, and 16GB of internal storage.

Korean OEM LG officially announced two new limited edition colors for its Android flagship model, it will now be available in red and gold.The devices will cost 14,900 TWD ($496) for the 16GB model, and 16,900 TWD ($562 USD) for the 32GB unit.The red and gold colored LG G2 models do sport a different back than the one on the standard models. The red and gold units have a textured back cover, which makes it easier to maintain a grip on the phone and also helps keep fingerprints from accumulating.
