LG G Flex on T-Mobile Receiving Android 4.4.2

The practically indestructible LG G Flex is getting a treat from T-Mobile today.The update brings T-Mobile’s LG G Flex up to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and adds LG’s Knock Code feature and of course some bugfixes that should improve battery life and make you G Flex run a little smoother.The update isn’t massive, but it’s not so tiny either. Clocking in at 150MB, you may want to wait to be connected to WiFi before attempting to download the update.

V700 and V400 LG tablets caught at the FCC

LG is looking to launch new tablets this year - V700 and V400, which have been caught at the FCC.The FCC listings don’t tell us anything about these two, but we’re guessing one of them will be more portable, sporting an 8-inch or so screen a la the current G Pad 8.3. The other device could be bigger, boasting a 10.1-inch display.

KitKat Update Ready To Arrive for the Verizon LG G2

Verizon is finally rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat to LG G2 owners.The software update contains a version number of VS98024A, and comes in at 669.4MB.It’s a pretty hefty update, so make sure your device is charged and that you download the update using WiFi.Here is what’s included in the KitKat update:

  •     Color Adjustment has been added
  •     ‘Magnification Gestures’ label is now ‘Touch Zoom’ label
  •     ‘Shades’ label is now ‘Screen Shades’ label
  •     ‘Captions’ have been added
  •     ‘Touch and Hold Delay’ is now ‘Touch Feedback Time
  •     ‘Speak Passwords’ label is now ‘Read Passwords’ label
  •     ‘Power Button Ends Call’ label is now ‘Power Key Ends Call’ label
  •     ‘Easy Access’ label is now ‘Accessibility Settings Shortcut’ label
  •      OS upgrade to Android KitKat 4.

AT&T’s support website has pointed out that they will be making available the OTA Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the LG G Flex from Thursday, April 17th.The LG G Flex’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will be huge at 686MB, which means it is also highly recommended that your handset has at least 50% charge on its battery remaining, not to mention being connected to a Wi-Fi network.AT&T has reiterated that this particular update will roll out in stages, so if you are not on the receiving end of it tomorrow, fret not – it will arrive to your smartphone eventually.

LG L70 is not entirely a new handset, having been announced by LG before Mobile World Congress kicked off in February earlier this year, being part of the new L Series III along the way.The LG L70 will run on Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box, which is uncharacteristically a departure for a non-flagship device, but we will not be complaining. @evleaks had leaked out a press render of the LG L70 complete with the MetroPCS carrier branding printed on the handset.

LG G2 owners on Sprint‘s network will be receiving a significant update soon, one that will bring their devices the newest version of Android KitKat, 4.4.2.Sprint’s changelog doesn’t really show much about the update, just that Android 4.4.2 is in tow as well as a fix for an audio issue with Next Radio. That’s good news for Sprint owners, who won’t be seeing a ton of bloatware when the update arrives.

Shortly after the news that AT&T's Galaxy Note 3 is finally getting a taste of Android 4.4, LG is doing the same with its G Flex back at home, in South Korea.This update will bring the company's Knock Code feature, which debuted on the G Pro 2.LG's KitKat update also brings improved Bluetooth Car-Kit controls and a boost in overall performance, thanks to things like Google's ART experiment. And don't worry if you down own a South Korean model of the G Flex, you should take this as being a step closer to arriving on your device.

LG G2 mini launching in April

LG announced that its G2 mini smartphone will start selling in April, starting with CIS countries followed by markets in Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.It has a 4.7-inch qHD IPS screen, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, 8GB of expandable storage, while Android 4.4 KitKat is running the show.It will be available in 3G and 4G LTE variants with single- and dual-SIM configurations.
