The FCC has just approved the GSM version of the upcoming LG BL40. It will only support GSM 850 / 1900 alone, which means there will be no US 3G support on that model. The first carrier to offer the device will be Verizon, so there's no doubt we'll see a CDMA version of it, but what if I wanted to get an unlocked GSM handset with HSDPA?

I'm pretty sure you're wondering what was that second handset pictured alongside the LG BL40 on the second photo. Well, that stylish looking slider is the BL 40's little sibling, dubbed the LG BL42. As you can see, it comes with a crimson slide-out keypad, light-up nav buttons, a 240 x 320 screen, and the same 5Mpix camera. Overall, it's a fine addition to the Chocolate lineup.

A couple live pictures of the beautiful LG BL40 Chocolate have surfaced over on a German forum today. The handset looks awesome, I mean really, everytime I see these photos, I want to touch this handset thoroughly. In addition, here's what we found out about the phone's specifications:
