Alright, today is the day the new Pantech Matrix PRO smartphone hit the shelves. Look it up in AT&T's retail stores, and be prepared to shell out $179.99 after a 2-year contract and a $50 mail-in rebate.

Pantech has presented its latest Matrix Pro smartphone, set to be launched on the AT&T's network. This Windows Mobile 6.1 powered handset is basically a successor to the old Pantech Duo, and comes with a sideways-sliding QWERTY keyboard.

AT&T has announced the new Pantech Matrix.

It has the same form-factor as the Duo, and offers such features like dual-band UMTS/HSDPA, a 1.3Mpix camera, Bluetooth, Video Share, a QWERTY keyboard and numeric keypad, and even comes in a choice of red, blue, and black colors.
