Meizu has unveiled its first octa-core, 4G-capable smartphone, and latest flagship – the MX4.It comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat, with Meizu's own Flyme 4.0 on top of it, sporting a large 5.36" display, with a 1920 x 1152 resolution, MT6595 octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A17 cores, clocked at 2.2 GHz, and four Cortex-A7, running at up to 1.7 GHz each.The device does not offer a microSD slot for external cards and comes in three storage space variants – 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB.

The Meizu MX4 is one smartphone that has yet to be released to the masses.There is going to be a “Pro” version of the smartphone that will run on a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa CPU, but for now, what has been caught on the AnTuTu benchmark site (version 5) points to a rather massive score of 52,811 points, and this is only the vanilla version.Apparently, the vanilla version of the Meizu MX4 will run on a big.

Meizu MX4 to be officially announced on September 2

Meizu will be officially announcing its next flagship device on September 2nd.The device will be available in two different versions, one of which will pack a 5.4- or 5.5-inch screen with 2560×1536 pixels resolution, 3GB of RAM, Sony’s 20.7-megapixel rear camera and Samsung’s Exynos 5433 Octa chip. The company’s own Flyme OS 4.0 will run the show on top of the Android core.

Meizu MX4 caught in the wild

The long-rumored Meizu MX4 appeared in a photo for the very first time.Published by Chinese website IT Home, said photo shows a white Meizu MX4.It’s said that the smartphone will have several versions, including one featuring a 5.5-inch display with 1536 x 2560 pixels, and one sporting a smaller, 5-inch screen with 1080 x 1800 pixels.The MX4 will be released in early September. Prices for the handset might start at about $320 - thus, the MX4 might give Xiaomi’s Mi4 a run for its money.

Meizu MX4 will be available in few different versions, one of which will rock top-notch specs that includes a 5.5-inch 2560×1536 pixels screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip, 3GB of RAM and a 16-megapixel main camera. The other model could have a smaller 5-inch display that tops at full HD resolution.Now we have another detail to add to the pile – the MX4 could also emerge as a device with world’s thinnest bezel.

Meizu MX4 to be unveiled in August

Meizu MX4 will be unveiled in August when users will be able to choose between at least two different variants.One of the two will sport a big 5.5-inch screen with impressive screen resolution of 1536 x 2560 pixels. Meizu is known for its unique displays and with the MX4 that practice will continue.The other model will have a more standard 5-inch full HD screen. That unit will apparently be available in China for $320 off-contract.
