Xiao Jinpeng, a welder at the Yingpan Iron Ore Dressing Plant in Jinta county in western China's Gansu province, was killed on June 19 when the battery in his cell phone exploded. The phone was in the man's chest pocket and reportedly was exposed to high temperatures before it blew up. Motorola officials are working with Chinese authorities to figure out what caused the explosion.

Samsung has recently introduced its SGH-L760 Mobile Blog phone in Korea. The handset is compatible with Youtube.com, Ublog.com and Buzznet.com and allows users to upload photos and videos DIRECTLY from the phone. The Mobile Blog comes with an embedded 2Mpix camera, media player and will first become available in Spain in July, and later in the rest of Europe.

Back in February LG presented a new version of their Prada phone based on Windows Mobile 6. The characteristic details were very poor then, but now we know a little more about the upcoming Prada. The final design of the phone will be very similar to the older model, only thicker. The device will support UMTS/HSDPA and Wi-Fi and will run on Windows Mobile 6 Pro.
