The Motorola Droid 4 is set to get its first update since the smartphone was launched by Verizon on its 4G LTE network.The update is set to bring a number or enhancements and fixes to Big Red’s iconic smartphone: an improved battery life, fixes for the backlight on the keyboard and improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity.There are also quite a few other things that will be tweaked in the 18MB update which can be seen from the picture above.

Motorola DROID 4 from Verizon will be getting a wireless charging feature.If you were planning on getting your hands on the device eventually, you’ll be pleased to hear that the device will be getting an inductive charging kit of its own.It will set you back $40, and all you’d have to do is place the DROID 4 with its new inductive charging kit onto a power mat and you should be able to charge your device without and wires.

It seems that a root method for the DROID 4 has been discovered barely a week since it went on sale.The root method was discovered by none other than Dan Rosenburg, so if you’d like to root the device and flash some custom ROMs onto it, pop on over to his blog.

The 10th February date seems to have been confirmed and we will be seeing the DROID 4 device launch then.It is also expected to keep to its pricing of $200 for the device on a new two-year contract with the carrier.Reports have also surfaced that the carrier will be offering promotions for their Motorola Droid RAZR line of smartphones. This includes a “buy one, free one” promotion, and will see Verizon bringing back their double data promotion which will cover 4G LTE plans.

According to some rumors Motorola DROID 4 could be launching on the 9th, although fresh rumors are pointing at a possible 10th release.Thanks to an internal screenshot leak, we can now more or less confirm that the Motorola DROID 4 will be available to Verizon subscribers for $199 with a two-year contract.For those who would rather buy the device off-contract at its full retail price, expect to fork out $549 instead.

Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX previously rumored for a 26th of January 2012 has been confirmed in a press release by Verizon.Apart from its slight increase in body thickness to accommodate the new 3,300mAh battery, its internals will remain more or less the same as the Droid RAZR.the device features a 4.3” Super AMOLED display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM under the hood, 16GB of internal storage, a 16GB microSD card preinstalled, 4G LTE connectivity and will run on Android 2.

A recently leaked Minimum Advertised Pricing sheet shows the DROID 4 will launch for $249 on a two year contract with Verizon.If you absolutely need a slider keyboard, then the DROID 4 is definitely a solid option with 4G LTE on Verizon Wireless.

Motorola and Verizon has finally unveiled both the DROID 4 and DROID RAZR MAXX.The DROID 4 packed with a slide-out five row QWERTY keyboard, while the DROID RAZR MAXX is taking the original styling of the DROID RAZR.Both devices are running under Gingerbread OS.
