There are rumors saying that Nokia plans to launch its new Nokia N81 music phone on August 29th. The pictures you see here are nothing but a mock up, but the final product shouldn't differ much.

The upcoming phone is designed to become Sony Ericsson Walkman handsets' main competitor. And judging by the specifications listed below (which by the way are not yet confirmed) it is true.

LG introduced its second 3G handset for the U.S. market, which will be available at AT&T Wireless. The new LG TRAX is probably the best HSDPA music phone to date. It features a clamshell form-factor with mirror-like external LCD display, external music controls, and the ability to download data at lightning-fast speeds.

Music features of the LG TRAX include:

Verizon Wireless presents their new Music Manager software, which is basically a PC-based music player, an addition to Verizon's VCAST Music service. You can download the application from here .

There are four sections available in the application to help manage the music:

•  "VCAST Buy Music" is a direct link to the VCAST Music Store;
•  "Music on My PC" lists all the music in the Music Manager library that is located on the hard drive;
•  "Music on My Phone" displays the files on the customer's phone (and memory card, if applicable) when connected to the PC;
•  "Music on My CD" lists music from any audio CD inserted in the optical drive.

Sprint has launched Pandora, the first online music service for mobile phones. It lets users listen to the new music and enjoy their favorite songs through a personalized DJ on their handsets. Pandora is very easy to use and has many cool features.

The service is currently supported on LG FUSIC, Samsung A900, Samsung A920, Sanyo 7500, Sanyo 8400 cell phones.

Motorola introduced its new ROKR Z6 music handset with Windows Media technologies, such as Windows Media Audio, Windows Media DRM 10, and media transfer protocol. The ROKR Z6 can be connected to any PC running Windows Media Player 10 or 11 via High Speed USB 2.0 to easily access and manage your music. The phone also uses Bluetooth wireless technology for wireless mobile stereo.

Samsung F308 is a new cell phone model that performs all functions of a cellphone, as well as a portable music player. It has a cool hi-tech design and provides outstanding music playback quality and player effects. Below there are some of the phone's features.

The Sony Ericsson W580i is the new Walkman music phone soon to appear in North American market.

Sprint announced Samsung UpStage (SPH-M620) soon. It is the first U.S. handheld with a dual-sided form which measures 4.07" x 1.73" x 0.37" and weighs just 2.57 ounces. The device has the look of a phone on one side and an MP3 player on the other. There is UpStage screen on the phone side that is meant to making calls, text messaging and contacts management.

Motorola announced the ROKR Z6m a thin, narrow slider with elegant finishes. It is a CDMA 800/1900, CDMA 1X/ EV-DO, 1900 Mhz multi-modal slider that delivers high-performance music on the go. The ROKR Z6m features clean lines and slim silhouettes, with a music twist for active, mobile consumers. The ROKR Z6m easily performs most of necessary job in the open and closed positions.

T-Mobile USA has introduced the new Nokia 5300 Xpress Music. The 5300 is available exclusively from T-Mobile and is designed for the mass market, unlike Nokia's popular N-Series devices. The device is rather a regular Nokia mobile phone, but it may also be marketed as a music device. It is available in both Lilac and Black.
