Nokia has released the new software update version 30.0.018 for the Nokia N95 8GB handset. The update should be installed from a PC and can be downloaded here or here (US).

New features:
- Maps 2.0 (e.g. Pedestrian navigation, Traffic info, Multimedia city guides, satellite imagery);
- Full N-Gage support;
- Nokia Search 4.

Canadian Rogers now offers a good option for iPhone 3G haters. The carrier has dropped the price for the Nokia N95 all-in-one smartphone to $199. And while you'll still have to agee for a 3-year contract, that's a serious price cut for a serious device, and must not be neglected.

The handset will be yours for an insignificant amount of £10,000 ($19,813), and will sport a silver front-panel covered with "4.42ct of brilliant-cut, VS1 quality, color G-H, naturally mined diamonds."

Briefly: Rogers Wireless announced they will introduce the Nokia N95 in Canada on May 2nd.
We're positive this won't be the 8GB model, but the latter will surely be released as well after a short period of time.

Everything, including the package is counterfeited, and costs just £150. The casual eye probably won't notice the difference between the original and fake handset, and that's disturbing...

Nokia in association with Tropfest@Tribeca announces the Nokia N-series Slice of Life contest where anyone can present their mobile clip showing author's world-view in a short moment of his own daily life. The creator must be at least 18 years old, and the video should be filmed on a wireless portable device lasting no more than 30 seconds.
