Yesterday during the web 2.0 summit, Google's CEO Eric Schmidt showed some of the features of the Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It will support near-field communication (NFC) that would allow users to pay for different Services like with a credit card.
Though the NFC will be available in Android 2.3 but this will also require phones to have an NFC chip inside without which this will not work.
