Casio, Hitachi and NEC have agreed to merge their respective mobile phone divisions into one single entity. NEC will initially own 66% of the said joint venture. In their view, combining their technology and resources will help them better compete in the home market of Japan, as well as abroad. The companies plan to complete the unification by April 2010.

The new NEC N-01A is an interesting piece. It offers three different display modes allowing you to use the phone in different ways. Touch Style mode makes the phone a full touchscreen device, the Share style is a special mode for watching videos, and Communication Style mode turns the N-01A into an upwards slider with a standard keypad.

Features of the N-01A include:

• 5Mpix camera with autofocus;
• VGA resolution display;
• HSDPA data;
• Built-in 1Seg tuner

The NEC N-01A should be available in Japan on November 21st for a yet undisclosed price.

Apparently, there are several new LiMo handsets to be released in the nearest future, thus amounting in 21 units.

Among them are handsets from Motorola, NEC and Panasonic Mobile. The following devices should become available today:

• MOTOZINE ZN5 from Motorola
• FOMA N906i, FOMA N906iµ, FOMA N906iL and FOMA N706i from NEC
• FOMA P906i and FOMA P706i&mic

NEC FOMA N705i is a new mobile phone for DoCoMo's network.

It measures 104x49x14.5 mm, weighs 105 grams, and features 3G connectivity, a 3" QVGA LCD, a 1.6" monochrome sub-LCD, geo-tagged photos, a standby time of 580 hours.

The N705i will be available for purchase in Japan starting February 1, 2008.

NEC has officially launched its new N905iµ TV-enabled cell phone.

Not much is known about the device yet, but we're positive it will be popular among mobile TV viewers.

The phone will become available on November 26 in Japan.<

The new N704iµ is the latest handset from NEC, which claims to be slimmest 3G clamshell phone in the world. The device has been released in Japan for NTT DoCoMo, but it is yet unknown whether it will be available in other countries.

NEC has recently launched its latest mobile phone, the N904i. This model will be distributed by the NTT, the japanese cellular operator.

The Nec N904i comes equipped with a huge 3" 262k-color display (480õ854). It supports HSDPA and has GPS functionality. There is also an integrated 3.2Mpix digicam and a media player. The memory can be expanded via a microSD card.

The NEC Softbank 706N is coming soon. This handset has a elegant, sleek design. The 706N comes in 4 metallic colors: black, silver, cherry tree and raspberry.

NEC has been working hard to offer some great looking affordable handsets and it succeeded very well in doing this. Recently the FCC approval got a new upcoming NEC N6207. The NEC 6207 is rather ultra-chic design and the cool color black/orange scheme. It also has good features inside like; a touch-screen display,1.3-megapixel with video capture, full multimedia capabilities like music and video player, built-in and Java games, WAP browser, USB, Bluetooth (modem/disk) among others.
