T-Mobile launched the second handset for its future 3G network, the Nokia 6263. This is a flip phone supporting 1700/2100MHz frequencies and quad-band GSM/EDGE networks. It has a QVGA display, 1.3Mpix camera, built-in FM tuner, stereo Bluetooth, and microSD slot (up to 4GB) with an included 512MB card.

Nokia 3110 Evolve is the company's new eco-friendly cell phone made by 50% from renewable material. The package in which the phone was presented also consists from recycled content by 60%. This is the latest environmental initiative from the company. A while ago they started putting alerts into their phones that remind people to unplug the charger when the phone is fully charged to save energy.

Nokia announced today it will acquire Avvenu, a company that offers users a PC-accessing service that allows users to remotely access their PCs from a mobile phone, and use and share files located on their HDD, even when the computer is turned off. Avvenu will be added into the Nokia's Services & Software unit.

Discover and listen to radio shows broadcasted over the internet with the Nokia Internet Radio service now available. The application can be downloaded for free from http://www.nokia.com/internetradio and will also be embedded in upcoming Nokia S60 3rd edition devices. "Most new music discovery occurs while you're listening to the radio," said Tommi Mustonen, head of the Nokia music business.

Once the world's greenest handset manufacturer, Nokia, has felt to the 9th place after the Greenpeace's recent study. The company didn't inform it's representatives in Argentina, Philippines, Thailand, Russia and India about its handset recycling program, so when an instructed mobile phone user went into a phone shop and asked them to take his handset back for recycling, they refused him.

British carrier O2 came up with the idea of using NFC-enabled cell phones as mobile wallets. Users will be able to make purchases, access events and even use public transport by touching the phone to a reader. The company announced it will hold a 6 month trial starting November 28, 2007, where 500 participants will each be given a Nokia 6131 NFC handset bundled with O2 Wallet including virtual cards (Oyster and Barclaycard) with NFC functionality.

Nokia today announced that the Russian mobile operator Megafon will offer a mobile email service based on the Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email solution. The hosted service, branded as MegaSync, will provide mobile email, advanced attachment handling, calendar, contacts and task synchronization to Megafon's customers.
