Nokia has released a new firmware update for its European N95 8GB smartphone.

The latest build (v31.0.015) offers speed enhancements for the camera and web browser applications, as well as overall stability improvements.

The new firmware is available now through Nokia Software Updater.

Don't forget to backup your personal data before proceeding with the update.

Mobile-Review has previewed the yet unannounced Nokia 5730 XpressMusic smartphone and posted a set of photos of it for everyone to see. Known features of the handset include:

• Slide-out QWERTY keyboard/standard numeric keypad;
• Nokia's S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2 user interface;
• 3.2Mpix camera with autofocus and LED flash;

According to Play.com, Nokia’s upcoming flagship smartphone N97 will soon be released in the UK, on March 31st to be exact. It is now available for pre-order at Play.com site for 479.99 Euros ($707), shipping cost included. The U.S. release is scheduled on the beginning of April, but that's unofficial.

Nokia N96 owners can now download the latest PR 1.2 firmware for their handset via Nokia Software Updater, or directly from the N96 with the built-in software update check.

Nokia has released a custom version of its N79 smartphone called Active, which comes bundled with the wireless Polar Bluetooth WearLink heart rate belt, a cool accessory for sports fans. It also features A-GPS functionality, anda new version of the Nokia Sports Tracker application.

The N79 Active package costs $491, and additionally includes some sporty headphones, armband and a 4GB microSD card.

Nokia has released a new firmware update for its Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handset via Software Update. The latest v11.0.008 is said to provide more stability and will add Google Search to the device’s built-in Internet search application. It also includes a number of bug fixes in the web browser and audio player. So there you have it.

Microsoft has updated its Windows Live Messenger mobile client to be compatible with Symbian S60 devices. As you can see on the picture above, the new version perfectly fits the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic’s screen, and will also be compatible with other Nokia handsets, including the upcoming N97 model.

Just to remind you, Windows Live Messenger allows you to chat  with your MSN/Windows Live buddies, as well as access your Hotmail account while on-the-go.

Nokia announced a new addition to its 8800 Arte range. The letest 8800 Gold Arte model comes with stainless steel parts with 18 carat gold plating and premium quality leatherrange.

The phone also offers:

• Tap-for-time feature (tap twice on the leather surface under the display to see the clock appear on the screen);
• Turn-to-mute silencing mechanism (turn the phone screen-down to mute the incoming call);
