Mozilla launched the third Release Candidate version of its Firefox browser for Maemo-based devices. Some brief highlights: improved overall performance, including more responsive panning and faster zooming in on web pages, the Awesome Bar now pops up faster when you tap on it. Note that plug-ins are now disabled by default (due to slowdowns), but you can always enable them in the app's settings.

Another update: Nokia has officially announced the 16GB X6 we've just talked about. The phone lacks support for Comes with Music, but comes pre-loaded with somegames, such as EA's Spore, Asphalt4 and DJ Mix Tour by Gameloft, and offers the latest version of Ovi Maps.
Pricing wasn't announced.

According to Eldar Murtazin (mobile-review.com), the upcoming 16GB version of the Nokia X6 will available in the following color schemes – all black, pink on white, and blue on white. That Pink version will make it a great gift for Valentine's, don't you think? Furthermore, it will naturally cost less than its 32GB counterpart - around €350. Specs are the same:

Nokia is now offering its Ovi Maps service for free for all of its GPS-enabled handsets. The new version of Ovi Maps currently works on N97 Mini, 5800 XpressMusic, 5800 Navigation, E52, E55, E72, 5230, 6710 Navigator, 6730 Classic and X6 phones. Device support should be fully expanded by March 2010. The latest version of Ovi Maps includes:

There's a new software update v1.1 available for the Nokia N900 globally via the Nokia Software Updater. It includes a number of bug fixes and adds support for Microsoft Exchange 2003. A detailed list of changes can be viewed here.

Not only is this a cheap clone of the Nokia N93, it even has an actual Nokia logo on it, probably because NOKLA's are a bit too obvious fakes. This handset combines the Nokia brand-name, elements of the iPhone's UI, and some low-end specs, like the 2.8" resistive touchscreen, 1.3Mpix camera, and Wi-Fi. Nokia N900 users worldwide received a major firmware update for their handsets last week. Key improvements include the addition of Swiss keyboard layouts, better compatibility with 3-branded SIM cards, support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 in the phone's Mail for Exchange service, and numerous performance and usability tweaks for Ovi Maps.The update is available now globally both OTA and via PC download.
