There's a new firmware update available over the air for North American Nokia N78 users. Just enter *#0000# while on the standby screen and then press 'check for updates'.
According to the first user comments, the Naviwheel became more sensitive and the right softkey now works all the time.

T-Mobile subscribers can now take advantage of the new Nokia XpressMusic 5610. The device is a quad-band GSM/EDGE music phone that features Nokia's “music slider” allowing for easy switching to the music player, as well as a 2.2" QVGA display, stereo Bluetooth, included 1GB microSD card, and a bundled external dongle with a 3.5mm jack.
The phone is available now for $99 on a 2-year contract.

FCC has approved today the new Nokia N85, the first tri-band WCDMA device to support both AT&T and T-Mobile's 3G networks.
Known features include:
- Quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) and tri-band WCDMA;
- GPRS/EDGE and/or HSDPA data;
- 240×320 pixel QVGA Display;
- 5Mpix camera with autofocus;
- Dual-slide form factor;
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth;

According to Reuters, Nokia has dropped prices on some of its cell phones by 10%. Reportedly, the highest price cuts were applied to music and media phones.
Currently, Nokia is the largest handset manufacturer and takes up 40% of the global cell phone market. In these circumstances the competitors will have to lower the prices as well, or risk losing even more market share.

J. Gold Associates predict that in the near fufure, three to six months from now, Google and Nokia will combine their Android and Symbian platforms "to provide a single open source OS". Although there are no signs that somehow prove the aforementioned statement, the source is positively convinced that will happen very soon.
"A combination of the Android and Symbian efforts would be good for the industry, good for Google and good for Symbian", - say analysts.
